Restaurants in the region are plentiful and wonderful.
Recent visitors ate at Les Florets in Gigondas (farther away) and called it “the best restaurant at which we've ever eaten in our lives.”
Les Florets. Route des Dentelles 84190 GIGONDAS Tél. +33 (0)4.90.65.85.01. Prix fixes: €24, €38, and €50
We have also eaten at L'Oustoulet in Gigondas and found it excellent; menus were around 35 euros. Place de la Mairie Gigondas - 84190. Phone: 04.90.65.85.30. Prix Fixes: Suggested by the chef: €27 and 30; the €42; €55
La Table de Comtat,in Seguret -- expensive and not very good. Le Paradou
(or, Le Bistro de Paradou) just east of Mausanne, and Les Alpiles, are
both called 'wonderful' at about 170 francs per person.
Other recommended restaurants:

La Vieille France in St. Paul Trois Chateaux (about 25 minutes from our village -- same place that the indoor pool is located). La Vieille France in St. Paul Trois Chateaux In Villedieu – A lovely ‘pizzeria' on the square (which serves much more than pizza)
La Maison Bleue (Villedieu, Tel. 04 90 28 97 02) – in the summer outside seating on the tree shaded square of Villedieu, reservation recommended for summer evenings.
Pres du Moulin -- in Serignan. On the grounds of the Hostellerie du Vieux Chateau. Tel 04 90 70 05 58. Prix fixe menus from €49

Here is what one recent
guest had to say about his discoveries of wineries in the area:
"The book you
have by Robert Parker on Cotes du Rhone is a great source for more information.
Some of our favorites in the Vaucluse:
In Seguret - Domaine de Cabasse
In Cairanne - Domaine Rabasse, a winery run by a mother and daughter;
try the Charavin
Domaine Brusset, the wine is a little better than Rabasse but not as
charming
In Gigondas - Domaine
Les Goubert, our favorite. Sample the wine, then drive into Seguret
and enjoy the lovely cafe in the middle of the village; my favorite.
We also liked a white, Clos des Cazaux from Vacqueryras, but didn't
visit the winery.
A votre santé..."

| The fresh fish hatchery
is located in Suze-la-Rousse, about 15 minutes to the west. As you approach
it you'll see a 12th-century monastery which is now a University of wine
(!) overlooking the countryside. There is also an organic chicken farm
just past Suze la Rousse. |
